PRR 9629, AF-16, c. 1962
Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide showing (L to R) Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9629 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by the American Locomotive Company. #9629 was constructed in December of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in January of 1967 after just 16 years of revenue service. The presence of a cabin car suggests that this A-B-A set is serving as tail-end pushers. Note the semaphore signal. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. Produced and distributed by FJC Products of Newport, Delaware.
