PRR 2880, H-6SB, c. 1946         
Here is a photo of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2880, an H-6SB (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an H-6B during 1905, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-6SB in May of 1913, and retired in July of 1947 after 42 years of faithful service. The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded. Many thanks to Mr. Robert Hess for identifying this location correctly. John S. Fisher Collection; #4 of 30.

Robert Hess General The Assignment Symbols on the pilot of No. 2880 appear as NJ - ME, for Meadows engine house in Kearny, NJ. The locomotive appears to be running on the New York & Long Branch RR, with the station at Long Branch, NJ on the left side. 6/19/2022 4:44:16 PM
