Here is a postal card entitled "World Famous Horseshoe Curve." No Postmark. Caption On Reverse: "World Famous Horseshoe Curve, West of Altoona PA, seen in this Autumn aerial view. Conrail moves 50-60 trains per day over this important East-West rail link that has served continuously since 1854. The Railroaders Memorial Museum operates a year-round Visitor Center, Gift Shop, and Funicular at the site. Photo by H. Mark Weidman." Kittanning Mountain embraces the Curve's apex. At the right of the Mountain is Kittanning Run, route of the ancient Kittanning Indian Trail and headwaters of the Juniata River which flow eventually into Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic.
