| Some engines were also inside the roundhouse which were visible from the outside windows such as this SD40-2. After some more photo taking a crew came out of the yard office and talked with us for a bit. They would be taking the 30th Anniversary SD40-2 to Milton to work some various industries. We were also told by the crew that we needed to be in Hartford, WI on Sunday around 9 AM for a "special move". We were unsure what that meant, but it aligned with our hotel stays well so we would be there. The crew hopped in the engine and began doing yard work. Unfortunately for me I had forgotten both my camcorder and my camera flash so I ended up getting nothing of the moves which disappointed me, but we planned to follow the WSOR most of the day tomorrow so hopefully I will have better luck. As for that our first day of the trip was over. We are staying in the Hampton Inn tonight then we will be beginning our day along the WSOR and following it to the CN in Waukesha! A very good first day! |
