The Northbound City of New Orleans leaves the Superdome behind as it races towards Carrollton Junction. F40/GP40TC power sets were regularly used at this time. The 10-car train included baggage car 1187, coaches 4635, 54019, and 4739, lounge 28205, dome 9405, coach 4631, food car 28018, 10-6 sleeper 2459 and baggage-dormitory car 1616.
