| Fine example of a Lima built 2-8-2 Mikado for the New York, Chicago & St Louis Railroad (Nickel Plate) in March of 1917 (serial #5430, class H-5a). The loco served in both passenger and freight service until being sold for scrap in September of 1956 to Luntz Iron & Steel Company. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 24x32" cylinders, engine weight of 291,750 lb, tractive effort of 49,737 lb. The photo is from the Howard W. Ameling collection. |
