| Below the massive Matteson, IL, water tower is the Rail Fan Park viewing platform that overlooks the Canadian National "cloverleaf" connection between the former Elgin, Joliet and Eastern mainline with the former Illinois Central mainline. The part landscape empahsizes the native grasslands that would have been present over a 100 years ago. Although it sits in Matteson, IL, the park is maintained by the Village of Park Forest - a unique shared project! |
