| With the refit program for 25 units, the service life of the Re 6/6 (Re 620) locomotives can be extended by at least 15 years until around 2035. During the refit, the cables will be completely renewed, the roof section will be refurbished and the transformers will be checked and overhauled, including complete refurbishment of the tap changer. The bogies are refurbished as part of the chassis overhauls. The renovated vehicles will be newly equipped with ETCS or the existing ETCS equipment will be replaced. The entire modernization including ETCS costs 1.8 million $ per locomotive. |
