| Although it is maintained by the Illinois Central Historical Society, this is the former Nickel Plate Road freighthouse that served the community of Paxton, IL. The NKP and IC crossed each other about two blocks east of this location and they shared a station at the cross point at one time. It is long gone. A car bridge was built around 2000 using the former NKP ROW over the IC tracks below. |
