CGW 2-6-0 #140 & CGW 4-4-0 #37 Head-on Collision         
Quite a sight to see two steam engines in a head-on collision. Involved were Chicago Great Western 2-6-0 #140 and Chicago Great Western 4-4-0 #37. I could not find any info on the actual accident. CGW #140 specs - Cooke, 11/1888, nee-Chicago, St Paul & Kansas City, Specs - serial #2147, class D2, 55" drivers, 145 psi boiler pressure, 18x24" cylinders, engine weight of 102,000, tractive effort of 17,425 lb. CGW #47 specs - CGW shops, 1904, Specs - class 33, 63" drivers, 160 psi boiler pressure, 17x24" cylinders, engine weight of 100,500 lb, modest tractive effort of 14,973 lb No photographer was listed for the photo.
