Amtrak Train No. 1         
On the day after Christmas 1977 the westbound SUNSET LIMITED was pulling out of New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal behind SDP40F units 619 and 542. The 12-car train was made up of baggage car 1172, high-level coaches 9931, 9958, 9955 and 9902, coach 4461, dormitory-lounge car 3393, diner 8031, sleepers 2619 PACIFIC MEADOW, 2505 BLUE MOTT and 2634 PACIFIC SLOPE, and dome-sleeper-lounge-observation 9251 SILVER PENTHOUSE.
