PRR 5772-B, BP-20, 1957
Meadows. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Engine Service Tracks at Meadows Yard near Kearny, New Jersey, on 27 December 1957. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is PRR engine #5772-B, a BP-20 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in August of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in June of 1964 after just 16 years of revenue service. At the moment, it's being refueled ~ but was towed into position by an unidentified Class K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" steam locomotive! ("Stoneborobranch"; #24 of 32)
