| A CN local passes the Main St. overpass at the north end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI, on 26 Apr. '20. Union St. can be seen to the left. The former Sherry St., Caroline St., and Adams St. grade crossings can also be seen. Arrowhead Park and Little Lake Butte des Morts can be seen beyond the Main St. overpass. Adams St. was originally Washington St., until at least 1913. I'm curious to learn what Washington did to incense the "great" City of Neenah. The area between the tracks and Union St., from Main St. to Monroe St., used to be the yard. I don't know when the current, significantly larger yard (extending southwestward from Winneconne Ave.) was built, but a map from 1909 shows the yard still here. |
