ERIE 4-6-2 #2916 - Erie RR         
Highballing around the curve at Great Bend, PA, is Erie 4-6-2 #2916 built by Baldwin in May of 1919. Specs - serial #51817, class K-5, 79" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 75x28" cylinders, engine weight of 306,000 lb, tractive effort of 43,925 lb. Retired and sold from scrap in August of 1950. Tom Beckett General Interesting shot, though it may be closer to Oakland PA, where there was a small yard east of SR tower, which would be out of view ahead of the train. I haven't been there in quite a few years, but it may still be standing, though is long out of service. There wasn't much at Great Bend, which is where the Susquehanna turns north as it flows toward Binghamton. 8/10/2020 5:36:32 AM
