NOPSI 878
New Orleans Public Service car 878 was outbound on the ST. CHARLES line on St. Charles Avenue at Fourth Street. The car was wearing the window screens that had been added to some of the cars that were used on the ST. CHARLES and TULANE belt lines after World War II to protect passengers from the vegetation. The 878 had been built by the J.G. Brill Co. in 1922 and was scrapped in May 1952. (approximate date of photo)
