PRR 8051, BS-10AS, 1957
Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Pemberton, New Jersey on 27 August 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8051, a BS-10AS built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as number "5591" in March of 1950, rated at 1,000 HP, and renumbered "8051" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. Note the air horn on the roof of P-70 Cab Car #1046, perhaps indicating some sort of push-pull operation from and to Pemberton. ("LouisFols"; #12 of 39)

Ben Kranefeld General Two P70 coaches, #1041 and later #1046, were modified with a vestibule end door containing a window and windshield wiper. Twin sealed beam headlights and an air horn were located on the roof above the door. Diagonal black and white safety stripes covered the entire end of the car. These two PRR P70 coaches were unique to the Pemberton Branch. 5/5/2020 1:36:08 AM
