NOPSI 860
New Orleans Public Service car 860 was inbound on the TULANE line on Canal Street, and was stopped at the intersection with St. Charles Avenue (on the left) and Royal Street (on the right). In this part of city, next to the French Quarter, many of the streets have different names on each side of Canal. The date of the photo isn’t known; but car 860 was damaged in a collision with a gas truck on 31 July 1950 and never ran again, so it has to predate that event. The TULANE car line was replaced with gasoline-powered buses on 8 January 1951. (approximate date of photo)
