| Niles. Here is the 18th of 19 original photos by George Niles, Jr., that were taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, perhaps during 1952. Passing under the 17th Street Bridge is a single 2-10-0 "Decapod" pulling a mixed-cargo freight train to the Eastbound Receiving Yard. Also visible are several of the PRR's 12th Street Car Shops on the left and its X-Ray Laboratory on the right. The locomotive's road number and the exact date are not recorded. |
