Railside Alex	General	I believe this is a J-1b or c. The J-1d’s and e’s never had two reserves as seen on the left side here, although the b’s an c’s did until the late 30’s. NYC 4-6-4 #5339 - New York Central
Caught speeding near Niagara Falls, NY, is NYC 4-6-4 Hudson #5339. Built by Alco-Schenectady in May of 1931, it has many of the upgrades and revisions in the long developmental history of the Hudsons. Specs - J-1d class, 79" drivers, 25x28" cylinders, engine weight of 358,600 lb. The date was not listed so an approximate one used. Charles A. Rowe photo
