| Caught here is the Indianapolis yard, Fairbanks-Morse H-16-44 unit NYC 7010 shuffles freight cars on this day in 1964. Built in 1951, this 1600hp switcher had eight-cylinder opposed piston prime mover. The unit had Raymond Loewy styliing like sloping body lines and a noticeable protrusion in the long hood around the radiator shutters. Cab side window units included inoperable "half moon"-shaped panes, resulting in an oblong-shaped assembly.Unknown photogrpaher |
