| This powerful AT&SF 2-10-2 number 968 Santa Fe type steam locomotive was built by the Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin) in February of 1904, serial #23724, 19 and 32" cylinders with 57" drivers. The loco was later simplified and superheated in 1922 at San Bernardino with 28X32 cylinders and retaining to 57" drivers. After nearly 46 years of service, the loco was sold to the Purdy Company on 4/23/1950 for scrap. Canadian RR photograph photo credit |
