| Long before an SD40-2 wore the number "5787", this 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive had the honor on the Canadian Pacific roster. Built by the CP Angus Shops in 1919, most of its service was spent pushing from the rear or helping from the front. Original specs - class S2, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26.5x32" cylindeers, engine weight of 362,000 lb, tractive effort of 65,866 lb. The entire class of 15 locos were retired between 1952-54.
