With a full head of steam, this 4-6-2 Pacific type steam locomotive built by the Canadian Pacific's own Angus Shops in 1914 is ready to head out with the daily varnish. Original specs - 75" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22.5x28" cylinders, engine weight of 219,000 lb, tractive effort of 32,130 lb. The class was upgraded to Schmidt Type A superheaters between 1922-1927 by the CPR shops and reclassified as class G1u. No location, exact day in 1946 or photographer was listed for this photo.
