SOU 2-8-0 6924         
Southern Railway System (New Orleans & Northeastern) Ks3 class 2-8-0 6924 was parked near the railroad’s SCOTT STREET ROUNDHOUSE in New Orleans, displaying white flags and coupled to water car W.T. 6924 which had a full coal bunker. This locomotive was one of five Ks3 class Consolidations (6922-6926) built by Alco’s Richmond Works in 1926, and these were the newest, heaviest and most powerful steam locos used on the NO&NE. It was sold for scrap to Granite City Steel in December 1952. (approximate date of photo)
