"Pennsy Steam Engines Will Be Sent To Museums," Page 19, 1968         
Here is page five of a five-page camera study entitled "Pennsy Steam Engines Will Be Sent To Museums." It was published originally in the July 1968 issue of "Railroad" magazine, page 19. Top Left-Hand Photo, Partial Caption: "Atlantic type 460, class E-6s, drew the 'Lindbergh Special' on June 11, 1927, from Washington to Manhattan Transfer in just under 3 hours." Engine #460 is an E-6S (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata in August of 1914. Top Right-Hand Photo, Partial Caption: "K-4s No. 3750 wears identification of No. 1737, first loco of this famous 4-6-2 class. The original 1737 had been sent to Northumberland, but deteriorated so badly that she was scrapped." Engine #1737 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built as number "3750" in March of 1920, renumbered "1737" in 1956, and renumbered "3750" in 1973. Both of these locomotives are presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.
