CR 6303, SD40, 1976
Everyday. Here is an original 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, during August of 1976. Prominent here is recently-repainted Conrail engine #6303, an SD40 built by GM-EMD as Pennsylvania Railroad number "6050" in February of 1966, renumbered "6303" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger, and then owned by Conrail under the latter number. Along with ex-Penn Central GP35 #2397, it's poised to haul a train of newly-repaired freight cars to Altoona and elsewhere.
