Here is page one of a six-page article by Charles Kerr, Jr., entitled "Locomotives Of The Future." It was published originally in the January 1943 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 28. Shown here is the front end of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6100, an S-1 (6-4-4-6) built in Juniata during January of 1939 and retired in January of 1949 after just ten years of revenue service.
