PRR 1361, K-4S, 1955
Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Manasquan, New Jersey, in July of 1955. In the first of two successive photos, here are (R to L) Pennsylvania Railroad engines #1361 and #3733. Both are K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacifics" built in Juniata. #1361 was built in May of 1915, and was enshrined for 30 years at the Horseshoe Curve before being refurbished for railfan excursions in 1987. #3733 was built in February of 1920 and retired in April of 1956. In this context, they're rockin' 'n' rollin' with a ten-car passenger train. ("VDF"; #1 of 7)
