PRR 1000, "Aerotrain," 1956         
AHC. Here is an original 35mm color slide that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during May of 1956. Shown here is the Pennsylvania Railroad's "Aerotrain" ~ built by General Motors during July of 1955 ~ on its daily roundtrip journey from New York City to Pittsburgh and back . . . only this time, it meets a pair of "Centipedes" returning to East Altoona to make yet another helper/pusher run up "The Mountain." The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded.
