Following World War II, France sent a train of boxcars loaded with gifts to the U.S. There were 49 boxcars, one for every state at the time, and a 49th to be split between D.C. and Hawaii. A few have been lost or scrapped over the years; fortunately, Missouri has taken good care of theirs! You can find it at the fairgrounds today, an important part of history! |
