Oil Power. Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in York, Pennsylvania, on 16 October 1960. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5609 and #5610. Both are BS-7's built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 750 horsepower each. #5609 was built in June of 1950 and retired in February of 1967 after just 17 years of revenue service. #5610 was also built in June of 1950, but later renumbered "7910" in preparation for the merger of the Pennsylvania and New York Central Railroads. |
