PRR "Bridge and Machine Shop," 1917         
Here is a postal card entitled "12th St. from 11th Ave., showing Bridge and Machine Shop, Altoona, Pa." Postmarked: 15 February 1917. Among other things, the Altoona Machine Shops produced 2,289 steam locomotives and tenders in the 38 years from the time it first opened in December of 1866 until it ceased production in January of 1904. The Civil War-era, wrought-iron, 12th Street Footbridge was replaced in December of 1965! The artist's name is not recorded.
