PRR 3752, K-4S, 1957
Coal Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Belmar, New Jersey, on 2 September 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3752, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during April of 1920 and retired in February of 1958 after 38 years of faithful service. In this context, it's pulling an 11-car commuter train on the New York & Long Branch Line on a dreary and rainy day. From the R.R. Wallin Collection.
