PRR "Eastbound Coal Train," 1955
AHC. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by John Pickett that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 13 October 1955. Prominent here is a Pennsylvania Railroad coal train as it rounds the Curve on its way down the Allegheny Mountains to the Eastbound Receiving Yard in Altoona. On the far side are its three GM-EMD "F" Class locomotives. On the near side is PRR N-5 cabin car #477630, with a crew member on the rear porch inspecting his train.
