Although this wreck does not look like much, the museum actually considers it an important part of their collection! That is because there are only 5 total of these still in existence. The museum plans to restore it to running order.

Tom Beckett General There were four of these that were acquired by the Delaware & Hudson in 1967, and which ran on the Laurentian and the Adirondack, from Albany to Montreal, until 1977, when Amtrak took over the train and reequipped it with turbos. In 1978, they were sold to Mexico, where they were not well taken care of, to say the least. Good to see one back. It will be a stunning exhibit once they get it cosmetically restored. 7/5/2018 4:42:17 AM
