PRR 3639, L-1S, 1954
TRB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Bill Price that was taken at the Rockville Bridge near Marysville, Pennsylvania, on 28 October 1954. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3639, an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during April of 1916 and retired in May of 1956 after 40 years of faithful service. In this context, it's about to the Rockville Bridge with a mixed-cargo freight train out of Enola on its way to Renovo and points North.
