Altoona RR Pictorial History, Page 97, 1996         
Here is a photo that was included in the "Altoona Area Railroad Pictorial History" edited by Linda White and published in 1996 by The Altoona Mirror, page 97. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3844, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during March of 1923 and retired in December of 1949 after 26 years of faithful service. It's pulling a passenger train past the Kittanning Point Station on its way down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. Note the semaphores on the signal bridge.
