Amtrak Train No. 23
At 09:50-55 on Saturday 5 January 1985 the original version of Amtrak train No. 23 - the westbound GULF COAST LIMITED - was stopped on the Seaboard System at the East New Orleans shelter. This was located along U.S. 90 just east of the railroad's GENTILLY YARD. The train was made up of P30CH 718, Heritage Fleet coach 4008, Amfleet coaches 21151 and 21229, and food-service car 20011. This was two days before the train's last run, and the Heritage Fleet coach was added for any extra traffic.
