| Home-made Southern Pacific (T&NO) SE-3 0-8-0 858 was on a westbound transfer run on the Southern Railway's New Orleans Terminal Co. subsidiary at Terminal Junction, about 15 miles from the T&NO's Avondale Yard. The substantial building behind the locomotive had been built by the Drainage Commission of New Orleans in 1898 to provide electrical power to its network of new pump stations on the north side of the city.
