| Freshly-shopped Nacionales de Mexico SD40M-2 13073 really stood out among the Illinois Central Gulf engines around it at Mays Yard near New Orleans. Compared to the spotless and glowing 13073, ICG GP8 7719, SD20 2022 and GP8 7911 look rather subdued. Of course, the 13073 will never look this sharp again! The engine had just been rebuilt from Norfolk & Western SD45 1796 by VMV Enterprises at Paducah, Kentucky and was awaiting delivery to the Southern Pacific for the continuation of its trip to Mexico. |
