Amtrak SUNSET
Amtrak's westbound SUNSET was preparing to leave New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal behind an eclectic set of power: Southern Pacific dual-control passenger geeps 3008 and 3009, Union Pacific E9B 958B (later AMTK 469) and UP E9A 958 (AMTK 430). To the left of the 13-car train, at the former Railway Express building, were privately-owned ex-Illinois Central observation cars 3305 and 3300.
