Undecorated units  Contributor's Pick!
Athearn was noted for making most of the models it offered in an undecorated version, so modelers who preferred to paint their own, or wanted to paint a scheme not offered "out of the box" could do so. Who knew the idea would catch on in real life?? NS took delivery of a large number of C40-8Ws in primer, putting them into service immediately, then painting them at Altoona or Chattanooga later. A pair of them are working the NYSEG plant at Dresden on the ex NYC Corning Secondary, getting ready to pull the empties, which will go to Buffalo, then eventually to the Brownsville PA area for reload.
