CV 4-8-2 #601 - Central Vermont  Contributor's Pick!       
Standing before the ash pan is the 1927 Alco-Schenectady built 4-8-2 "Mountain" type locomotive built for the Canadian National parent company and leased to the Central Vermont. Specs - class U-1-a, 73" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 26x28" cylinders, engine weight of 326,100 lb, tractive effort of 46,283 lb. The class was retired in the late 1950's. In the distance is CV 2-8-0 #470. Anthony H Perles photographer.
