CRR 2-8-8-2 #737 - Clinchfield RR  Contributor's Pick!       
Massive articulated 2-8-8-2 "Chesapeake" type locomotive built by Alco-Brooks in 1924 sits quietly at an unknown locaiton. Specs - L-3 class, 57" drivers, impressive 240 psi boiler pressure, 25x32" high pressure cylinders, 39x32" low pressure cylinders (2), engine weight of 541,000 lb, tremendous tractive effort of 101,465 lb. Eventually retired between 1951-52. No information accompanied the photo so date and location are approximate.
