Railroad Crossing
Here is a shot looking north at Duluth Juntion in rural Washington County in the summer of 1980, as the scrappers were up north beginning to remove the 15 mile line. Where I am standing there had been a connecting track between the two lines, as Soo Line had actually run trains on the NP tracks in the early 1900s to Stillwater. The BN ran a 5 day a week local to Stillwater until March, 1982 and the Soo Line quit using this line in about the 1972-74 time frame.

Tony Held General I hate it when the scrappers come. The Stillwater/White Bear Lake area sure was a Shangri-La for railfans once upon a time. 7/27/2020 11:24:02 PM
