PRR 2539, GF-25, 1965
Spruce Creek. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Spruce Creek, Pennsylvania, on 10 July 1965. Shown here are PRR engines #2539, #2517, #2234, and #2247. #2539 and #2517 are GF-25's built by General Electric and rated at 2,500 horsepower each; #2539 was built in 1965, but #2517 was built in 1962. #2234 and #2247 are EF-22's built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. They are pulling a 61-car eastbound TrucTrain with cabin car #477627. At this point, the railroad tracks parallel State Route 45.
