MofW Equipment. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad Maintenance-of-Way Equipment in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, during July of 1960. Shown here is PRR engine #7922, an ES-12 switcher built by EMD in 1957 and rated at 1,200 horsepower. It is pulling the daily "Bedford Local" to Altoona ~ but it's way behind schedule because it's been following the "weed burner" and the "water sprayer" since before time began! This photo was taken from the southern end of the old Union Street Bridge. Also note the strings of gondola and hopper cars that are marshalled for reconditioning at the PRR's Samuel Rea Shop. |
