| The ICG Iowa Division met the BN mainline from Savanna at Portage. Between Portage and East Dubuque, the BN had trackage rights on the ICG. The CGW also passed through Portage up until it was merged into the C&NW and was abandoned in 1971. Up until the late 1960s, there was a tower located here, staffed by IC personnel. In June, 1992, BN purchased the westbound main from the Chicago Central & Pacific and assumed dispatching of both mains. |
