The last trip on the New Glarus branch. Crossing the IC Madison branch at Monticello. In the early 1960's, the Milwaukee Road proposed abandoning the branch between Brodhead and Monticello and securing trackage rights over the IC Madison district to serve Monticello and New Glarus. But, in 1962, Pet Milk announced the closing of their New Glarus plant and rail business fell quickly after that. Bob Dorr photo

Andre Wehrle General Amazing! Just the other day I was browsing Google Earth aerial view and saw the spot where the two bike trails criss-cross. I never knew there was a diamond between the two lines before, and now here I find a photo of it! 1/15/2018 10:44:19 AM
