Tom Beckett General It would have to be after 1977 if there's a VIA unit in the photo. Stripe on the pilot is an interesting feature. I wonder how many got painted that way, and how long it lasted. 1/31/2016 2:25:28 AM
Chris Roberts General I don't think you're far off with 1979; the first VIA FPA4s in blue and yellow had a red CN on the nose. The red VIA (as on 6770) came in 1978. According to my old spotter diary, 6770 was still in CN stripes in early 78. As for the V stripes on the pilot plow on 2529, I believe all of them were delivered that way (same V painted in the rear pilot). The paint wore away, but was still visible. 12/12/2022 1:10:06 PM
